This season promises a thrilling display of talent and resilience.

THE MOST CHALLENGING HOLES OF THE 2024 DP WORLD TOUR SEASON REVEALED!

Golf enthusiasts, gather ’round! The excitement of the 2024 DP World Tour season has already brought a whirlwind of thrilling moments, spectacular swings, and nail-biting challenges on the courses. With a whopping 846 holes played across 47 different courses, the competition is heating up. Let’s dive into the most difficult holes that left players scratching their heads and fans on the edge of their seats!

A FRUSTRATING DAY IN MAURITIUS

One of the standout events was the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, where things went a little haywire for the golfers. This course saw an astounding 28 birdies made, but hold onto your hats, because there were 168 bogeys or worse scored too! In the final round, Louis Oosthuizen faced his own struggles, making a bogey on one of the toughest holes, while Ryan van Velzen pulled off an incredible eagle on the same thort hole. Talk about a mixed bag of results!

A WEEK OF STRUGGLES AT THE U.S. OPEN

Next up, the legendary U.S. Open came to town, but this year was anything but a walk in the park. With the tournament being hosted at the same venue for three consecutive editions, only four players managed to finish under par before the 2024 event. Among all the challenges, the par-four second hole stood out, yielding a meager 16 birdies while also racking up 146 bogeys, 19 double-bogeys, and even five triple-bogeys. It’s safe to say that this hole didn’t show any mercy!

DOUBLE-BOGEYS GALORE AT THE BETFRED BRITISH MASTERS

The sixth hole at the Betfred British Masters was simply brutal, snapping a record with the highest number of double-bogeys (34) throughout the season. Tyrrell Hatton had a particularly tough time, ending up with a quadruple-bogey after, believe it or not, finding himself in the water not once but twice! In contrast, Niklas Nørgaard nailed the sixth hole, walking away with a par every day and ultimately sealing his first DP World Tour title. Quite the tale of two players!

TOUGH TIMES AT THE OPEN

Moving on to The Open, the 11th hole proved to be a heavyweight champion of difficulty. Throughout the event, it recorded nearly 50 double-bogeys with only a meager 27 birdies made! Xander Schauffele managed to conquer this challenging hole, finishing one under during the final day, which contributed to his impressive three-shot victory.

SCENIC YET DEMANDING – ROYAL COUNTY DOWN

And who could forget the breathtaking Royal County Down, host of the Amgen Irish Open? This gorgeous course isn’t just a pretty face; it’s known for its challenging holes. The infamous 15th hole produced both 27 birdies and an equal number of double-bogeys, showing that beauty and difficulty can coexist in style. Across the week at the Brabazon course, 49 double-bogeys were recorded, proving to be a real test of golfing skills.

LONG AND HARD – SOUTH AFRICA’S TOUGHEST HOLES

Turning our attention to South Africa, the longest par-four hole caused a stir with an astonishing count of 27 double-bogeys or worse, averaging about half a shot over par. However, Dean Burmester showcased pure skill with a birdie on this daunting hole, propelling him to victory.

9TH HOLE AT THE RENAISSANCE CLUB: A HEAD SCRATCHER

Meanwhile, the par-three ninth hole at The Renaissance Club proved to be a real head scratcher, notching only 25 birdies throughout the event. Last but not least, the infamous 18th hole made history with a measly 7% birdie success rate compared to weeds of bogeys!

CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF HERO INDIAN OPEN

Lastly, let’s not overlook the DLF Golf & Country Club, which proudly hosted the Hero Indian Open for the fifth consecutive time. In its latest iteration, 11 out of 18 holes played over par, emphasizing just how challenging this fantastic course can be. This year also celebrates the 20th anniversary of sponsorship by Hero MotoCorp, marking two decades of commitment and support for the thrilling world of golf.

To sum it all up, the 2024 DP World Tour is shaping up to be a rollercoaster ride of talent, perseverance, and a whole lot of challenging holes that test even the best professionals. Which hole do you think will gain the reputation as the most infamous of them all this season? Only time will tell!
