Her 24-year service was commendable, with cherished memories including time spent in locations such as Newport, Rhode Island, San Diego, California, Yokosuka, Japan, Great Lakes, Illinois, Naples, Italy, and Norfolk, Virginia. She concluded her naval career in October 1989, with her last duty station being in sunny Orlando, Florida.

Patricia’s commitment to her family and community was unwavering. She married Lt. Commander Franklin Howell in 1983, an accomplished Navy pilot from World War II. Together, they shared a passion for the game of golf, being active members of the Rio Pinar Country Club in Orlando, where Patricia took part in the women’s “Nifty Niners” golf league. Tragically, Franklin passed away in 2009, leaving behind a legacy of love and commitment.
