The Beal Slough Disc Golf Course has been recognized as the 70th best disc golf course globally by UDisc’s annual rankings, improving from last year’s 88th position. Opened in 2021, this Lincoln course features 18 holes and offers various layouts for players of all skill levels. Developed by the Lincoln Flying Disc Club, it maintains a strong community spirit and features a comprehensive practice area. The Beal Slough Disc Golf Course has once again made waves in the disc golf community! For the second consecutive year, this beloved course has snagged the impressive title of being ranked 70th in the world’s top 100 disc golf courses, according to UDisc’s much-anticipated annual rankings. What a fantastic achievement for a course that only opened its doors in 2021! This year, Beal Slough has climbed a remarkable 18 spots from its previous ranking of 88th in 2024, making it the only course from the state to join the elite list.
Nestled near the busy intersection of South 60th Street and Pine Lake Road, the Beal Slough Disc Golf Course features a thrilling design that includes 18 challenging holes. Players of all skill levels can find their fit here, as it offers three distinct layouts: the white tees for amateurs, blue for professionals, and gold for the most elite players. No wonder it’s aptly rated as challenging to very challenging!
What sets Beal Slough apart is not just its exciting holes but also its well-thought-out practice area. The course boasts not one, but two standard baskets along with a marksman basket, two warm-up nets with concrete pads, and even a 500-foot driving range. Developed and maintained by the Lincoln Flying Disc Club, the Beal Slough course is a shining example of community spirit. Through an agreement with the city, the club successfully designed and constructed the course, and they continue to assist with its upkeep. Fundraising efforts, including donations and suggested fees, keep the course in top shape. You can take a swing here for just $5 for daily access or grab an annual pass for $75.
As if that isn’t enough, Beal Slough is set to host the Star City Classic, which is recognized as Nebraska’s largest disc golf tournament, scheduled for May. Moreover, the course will also be part of the Disc Golf Pro Tour Qualifying Series, proving just how significant this location has become in the broader disc golf landscape.
Highlighting the growth of Lincoln and Nebraska’s disc golf community, the Parks and Recreation Director pointed out that this recognition brings pride to both locals and visitors. With currently five disc golf courses scattered across Lincoln and over 16,000 courses worldwide, Beal Slough is genuinely in the top 0.006% of disc golf courses!
