With a current record of 24-10 overall and 7-5 in Big 12 play, the BYU Cougars are in solid form. Recently, they produced a fantastic performance against Utah Tech, winning 12-7, where Keila Kamoku made history by achieving a school record with eight RBIs. She showcased her power at the plate with a spectacular grand slam and a three-run homer, turning the game around. At one point, the teams were deadlocked at 5-5 in the fifth inning until Lindy Milkowski stepped up and crushed a two-run homer, sealing the victory for BYU.

As for the pitching staff, Kate Dahle recorded an impressive 2.62 ERA, proving to be a reliable asset on the mound. Fellow pitcher Jada Villegas also shined, earning a win with six strikeouts over 6.1 innings. Together with Gianna Mares, the duo combined for a stellar 3.2 innings, with Kaysen Korth earning the win after pitching 3.1 scoreless innings.
BYU is making waves in the Big 12, leading the league in home runs per game at 1.56 and ranking second in both total home runs with 53 and runs scored at 221. Individually, Brittingham shines bright, leading the Big 12 with a batting average of .439 and an impressive 52 RBIs. The Cougars are making a name for themselves.
It’s interesting to note that the last time these two teams faced each other, UCF clinched victory in two out of three games against BYU in Orlando. However, with the Cougars’ current strength and confidence, fans are hopeful for a different outcome this series.
