The holiday season brought along a whirlwind of excitement as the Celebration Varsity Boys and Girls Basketball teams hit the courts for a series of action-packed tournaments. While some games were tough battles, there were also significant victories that left fans cheering.

Boys Team Highlights

On Saturday, December 28, the Celebration Varsity Boys Basketball team scored a thrilling victory against Palmetto Ridge High School, concluding the game with a nail-biting score of 55-51. This remarkable win came during the MCDA Cletus Stutzman Tournament, showcasing the boys’ unwavering determination and skill. Edson Oliveira da Silva was honored as the player of the game, and his performance was truly commendable!

However, the journey wasn’t all smooth sailing for the boys. The previous day, they faced a tough match against Mount Dora Christian Academy but unfortunately fell short with a score of 47-73. It was a challenging game, but the team demonstrated resilience throughout. Prior to that, they encountered Jackson County High School, where they lost 48-56, and Timber Creek High School, where the scoreboard read 41-45. Even in these losses, players like Braden Plaisted and Ricardo Baro stood out with impressive performances, proving their skills and tenacity on the court.

They recently took on Jackson County High School and experienced a loss of 39-72. They also faced Gateway High School, finishing the game with a score of 28-59. The girls faced St. Cloud High School as well, where they lost both junior varsity and varsity games, the final scores being 45-54.

Despite the tough matches, there were bright spots for the girls as well. Earlier in December, they celebrated a joyful victory against Ridgeview Global Studies Academy with an impressive 59-36 win. Evelyn Juden made quite an impact during this game and was recognized as the player of the game, showcasing her exceptional contributions to the team’s success.
