Golf fans, get ready for a thrilling display of talent as the Eastern Florida State College women’s golf team prepares to tee off at the highly anticipated Space Coast Collegiate Championship. This exciting event is set to unfold at the picturesque Duran Golf Club in Viera on the 10th and 11th of March, 2025. It promises to be an event filled with excitement, drama, and incredible athletic prowess!
Hosting the championship this year is the renowned Catawba College, which has gathered an impressive lineup of 11 competing teams. Our Titans, along with Seminole State College, will showcase the junior college spirit against a backdrop of NCAA Division II institutions. With many skilled athletes vying for the trophy, you can bet this championship is shaping up to be a nail-biter!
As the competition heats up, golf aficionados will want to keep a keen eye on a few standout teams. Leading the charge is Tampa University, which proudly holds the number one position in the national rankings, a claim to the top that they do not take lightly. Trailing close behind in seventh place is Lynn University, showcasing their own exceptional talent. Also in the mix are Nova Southeastern University at 17th and Barry University, currently ranked 25th. Each team brings its own flair to this much-anticipated showdown, promising an exciting spectacle.
On the junior college front, Seminole State College stands tall at third in the NJCAA Division I poll, while our very own Eastern Florida State College is hot on their heels, ranked at fifth. With stakes this high, both teams are undoubtedly hungry to prove themselves and make a mark during this championship!
The Titans have already made quite the splash during their spring season, finishing in a remarkable third place in their inaugural tournament. But the real star of the show was Mila Tang, who clinched the title of individual champion. Her extraordinary skills and determination drew applause from the crowd, creating a buzz around the team as they gear up for the upcoming championship.
This championship is particularly notable for the Titans as it marks their first experience at the stunning Duran Golf Club. The course, known for its lush surroundings and challenging layout, will not only be the home for the Space Coast Collegiate Championship but also the venue for the upcoming Southeast District Lady’s Championship in April.
