As 2025 approaches, the lovely city of Orlando is preparing to welcome in the Lunar New Year, an enchanting time also known as the Spring Festival. This thrilling celebration, deeply rooted in the culture of several East Asian communities including the Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean, is set to usher in the Year of the Snake on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. What does that mean for all of us in Orlando? A jam-packed schedule of cultural festivities, delicious food, and lots of fun are on their way!
The festivities kick off with a delightful Vietnamese New Year celebration on January 26, 2025. Picture this: vibrant performances, talented singers, and, of course, mouthwatering Vietnamese cuisine. All of this will take place at 4603 W Colonial Drive from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.. Not to be missed! On this very same day, The Burrow Cafe and Play will roll out the red carpet for locals and visitors alike. With over 25 vendors, a DJ to keep the energy high, and free kid-friendly crafting booths, it’s the perfect spot for families to celebrate together.
But wait, there’s more! If you’re an adult looking to sip on something special, The Courtesy Bar won’t disappoint. From January 29 to February 2, 2025, a specialty Lunar New Year cocktail menu will be waiting for you, along with themed décor that’s sure to elevate your spirits. Reservations are recommended for groups of 4-8, so be sure to call ahead if you’re planning to stop by. The Courtesy Bar is conveniently located at 1288 N Orange Ave., Winter Park.
On February 15, 2025, folks should definitely consider visiting Avalon Park for a day filled with excitement. Expect to see stunning lion and dragon dances, lively Japanese Taiko performances, and impressive Kung-Fu demonstrations, all FREE to the public! Remember to bring a blanket, as seating will be outdoors from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.. But the fun doesn’t stop there: the Mills District is prepped for its own parade featuring those same captivating dances. It’ll kick off at Lake Highland Drive and North Mills Avenue and finish at the 728 N. Thornton Ave Parking Lot.
While celebrating in the streets, don’t forget about the Lunar New Year festival happening in the Edoboy sushi parking lot on February 15, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs will also join in the festivities with delectable special dishes available from January 20 to February 9, 2025. Food lovers should circle January 27 on their calendars, too, as a culinary competition for ramen will crown the “Ramen Royalty of Central Florida”. Tickets for this tasty showdown start at $95.
To cap off the celebrations, the Central Florida Fair Grounds will host an authentic Lunar New Year Festival from February 14 to 16, 2025. With more than 50 vendors and live performances, it promises to be a vibrant showcase of culture.
