Collin Morikawa Leads the Charge at Arnold Palmer Invitational!

Orlando, Florida is buzzing with excitement as Collin Morikawa has taken a daring lead at the prestigious Arnold Palmer Invitational held at the beautiful Bay Hill. On March 8, 2025, Morikawa confidently soared through the third round, delivering an impressive performance that left spectators on the edge of their seats.

A Remarkable Round

Morikawa wowed the crowd with an outstanding score of 5-under 67. He capped off his round with a thrilling 12-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole, which sent him to the top of the leaderboard with a one-shot advantage over his closest rival, Russell Henley. However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for Morikawa. The young golfer faced a minor setback when he missed a 5-foot par putt on the 14th hole, marking his only bogey over the last 45 holes! Quite an impressive feat, don’t you think?

Chasing the Title

The excitement continues to build as Morikawa attempts to claim his first PGA Tour title in 17 long months. His last taste of victory was at the Zozo Championship in Japan back in October 2023. Fans are hopeful that this could be the tournament where Morikawa breaks that streak, especially since he has recently reunited with his longtime coach, Rick Sessinghaus. This partnership seems to have reignited Morikawa’s game, allowing him to regain the coveted consistency he once had.

The Competition Heats Up

While Morikawa enjoyed the spotlight, Henley wasn’t far behind, also finishing his round with a score of 67. He began his game strong, making an impressive long bunker shot for birdie on the opening hole, putting him right into the mix for the title. Then there’s Corey Conners from Canada, who managed a solid score of 69, putting him just two shots off Morikawa’s lead. Talk about a competitive field!

The excitement, however, left some big names behind as Shane Lowry, who held the lead after 36 holes, struggled significantly and shot a disappointing 76 which dropped him six shots off the pace. Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy faced his own challenges, ending his round with a score of 73 after bogeying three of his last four holes, placing him further behind at seven shots back.

And don’t forget about Scottie Scheffler who managed to scrap out a score of 71, leaving him eight shots adrift, while Jason Day displayed a roller-coaster of a round. After posting the tournament’s lowest score of 64 on Friday, Day fell back a bit with a 69 that included three consecutive bogeys on the front nine.

h4>Ready for the Final Round

As we gear up for the exciting final round of this highly anticipated tournament, eyes will be glued on Morikawa, Henley, and Conners as they battle it out for the title! The challenge of the Bay Hill course is real, demanding extraordinary shot-making skills from the players, and Morikawa has certainly proven his mettle thus far. Will he be able to maintain his edge, or will one of his competitors steal the show? Simply put, you won’t want to miss what’s in store!

Stay tuned, as we keep our fingers crossed for a thrilling conclusion to this remarkable tournament!
