Orlando Police Release New Video in Ongoing Homicide Case

Orlando, Fla. – On the three-year anniversary of the tragic shooting death of 35-year-old D.J. White, Orlando police have released new surveillance footage in hopes of advancing the investigation into the unsolved case. D.J. White was shot while walking his brother’s dog at the Timber Sound Apartments on November 29, 2021, at approximately 3:00 AM.

The Incident

The incident took place at the Timber Sound Apartments, located in the 4800 block of Raleigh Street, near Kirkman Road and State Road 408. According to police reports, an unknown assailant approached White, fired multiple shots, and fled the scene on foot. First responders arrived to find D.J. White deceased, leaving behind a family that has been devastated by his loss.

Family’s Heartbreak

Margaret White, the victim’s mother, expressed her heartache, stating, “It’s been very hard every day. You know, every day I miss him because he was my baby.” She described her son as a dedicated family man who loved children, mentioning that he had 12 kids of his own. D.J. was known for his willingness to lend a hand to his siblings and help care for their children as well.

New Evidence Released

In a bid to revive interest and gather tips from the public, the police have published surveillance video from the night of the murder showing a figure resembling the suspect walking through the apartment complex. The footage shows a person wearing a white hoodie over their head, along with a black shirt, black jacket, and black pants.

Urgent Call for Information

D.J.’s murder remains unresolved, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. The police have emphasized the importance of community involvement in solving this case. “The investigation into his murder is still ongoing, and detectives are again asking the community for assistance in bringing justice to DJ and his family,” officials noted in a post on social media.

Margaret White has been persistent in seeking justice for her son, revealing that she had requested the release of the surveillance video to help jog memories and uncover new leads. “I’m praying there’s some tips that will get called in,” she said. Her hope is not only for her own peace but for the peace of her grandchildren and family as a whole.
