Orlando, Florida – Vernell Brown III, a standout four-star athlete, is gaining significant attention following an impressive junior season on the football field. The talented wide receiver and potential defensive back has showcased his skills across multiple games, leading to strong recruitment interest from some of the nation’s elite college football programs.
Brown recently released a list of his top contenders, which includes Ohio State, Florida State, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Miami, Stanford, Clemson, Louisville, UCF, and Syracuse. He expressed that these schools are in no particular order. “The big four in Florida, I consider UCF part of that, they’ve done a really good job,” stated Brown’s father, emphasizing the level of commitment these programs have shown towards his son’s recruitment.
During his junior year, Brown accumulated a staggering 1,404 receiving yards and over 2,000 all-purpose yards. He scored 12 touchdowns from receptions and a total of 16 touchdowns overall. His athletic prowess not only shines in receiving but also highlights his potential for a future role in the secondary, making him a versatile asset for any college team.
In addition to his athletic achievements, Brown also excels academically, boasting a remarkable 4.9 GPA. His father emphasized the importance of finding a program that aligns with Vernell’s values. “The biggest thing to him is the people first and foremost. Those are the people you’re around every day,” he explained. “Development, putting him in position to accomplish his goal on Sunday, is extremely important to him.”
The Brown family is currently in the process of arranging spring visits to several of the schools on Vernell’s list. Plans include a trip to Ohio State, as well as upcoming visits to Syracuse and various in-state programs. These visits will provide Vernell with valuable opportunities to meet coaching staffs and experience campus life, helping him make a well-informed decision about his future.
According to Brown’s father, the family is focused on three key factors during this recruitment journey: the quality of the people within the program, how the coaching staff plans to utilize Vernell’s unique talents, and opportunities for development both on and off the field. The elder Brown believes these components will significantly influence Vernell’s decision as he navigates his path toward playing at the next level.
As the recruitment process for Vernell Brown III heats up, the attention from top college football programs underscores his standout abilities and potential for success. As he prepares for visits to several institutions, fans and scouts alike will be watching closely to see where this talented athlete will ultimately choose to further his education and athletic career.
