Myakka City Welcomes a New Golfer’s Paradise: Soleta Golf Club

Myakka City Welcomes a New Golfer’s Paradise: Soleta Golf Club

MYAKKA CITY, Fla. – Big news for golf aficionados in Florida! The three-time major champion and acclaimed golf course designer Nick Price has just opened the doors to his latest masterpiece, Soleta Golf Club, just in time for a winter tee-off. This grand unveiling took place on December 10, and it’s something you definitely want to hear about!

A Course Like No Other

Situated near the beautiful Lakewood Ranch community and Sarasota, Soleta Golf Club isn’t just any golf course; it’s a whopping 7,400 yards of golfing excitement. What’s even more astounding is that this stunning course came to life in just 11 months. You bet Price and his incredible team have been busier than ever, moving over one million cubic tons of earth to transform a flat pasture into an unforgettable playing experience. Talk about dedication!

It’s All About the Sand

When asked what makes Soleta stand out, Price mentioned the use of local white sand. He said, “It was the sand that I really liked,” emphasizing how it enhances the natural beauty of the course. This wasn’t just another plop of green grass; it’s all about finding a perfect balance. Price achieved that with thoughtful use of sand, grass, and water, creating a scenic backdrop that’s as enjoyable to look at as it is to play on.

Flexible Course Design

Price didn’t stop at aesthetics; he’s also focused on making the game accessible for everyone. Soleta features free-flowing tees that can be adjusted up to 125 yards. This flexibility allows the course to cater to both seasoned players and newcomers alike. Imagine having the chance to play a different hole each time you visit—the options are practically unlimited! “The hole you played the day before is not necessarily the hole you are going to play tomorrow,” Price remarked. What a fun way to keep things fresh!

Building a Community

But this isn’t just a golf course; it’s going to be the heart of a new community. Soleta has already attracted 170 members, and several lots have been snagged, each priced at a cool $3 million and up. The development will include only 93 homes, ensuring that the natural beauty of the area is preserved. Price has grand plans that include a David Leadbetter golf academy, a Toptracer range, and other impressive practice facilities spread across 30 acres.

More Than Just Golf

What’s a golf club without some fun recreational options? Members can look forward to enjoying a walking-only, nine-hole short course called The Colt, a large clubhouse with family-friendly amenities like pickleball and tennis courts, and even a swimming pool. There will also be 14 cozy cottages available for out-of-town members and their visitors. Soleta Golf Club aims to be a complete family destination!

What Else is Happening in Florida?

In other golf news around Florida, Webbs Reserve, designed by Jack Nicklaus, opened its doors to the public back in mid-November and has already received glowing reviews. Meanwhile, golf enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the renovations at Augusta’s city course, affectionately known as “The Patch.”

Lastly, keep your eyes peeled for a potential new municipal golf project in Westport, which is on the verge of taking its next big step. Exciting times ahead for golfers in Florida!

So, whether you’re a pro, an enthusiastic beginner, or just looking for a fun day out, Soleta Golf Club offers something for everyone. Why not grab your clubs and be among the first to experience what this stunning new course has to offer?
