SpaceX’s first-stage booster, tail number B1076, also joined the celebration by completing its 20th flight during this mission. This booster has been quite the workhorse, previously helping launch several missions including CRS-26 and ten other Starlink missions. After doing its job, the booster made a spectacular landing on the SpaceX droneship known as ‘A Shortfall of Gravitas’ about 8 minutes post-launch. This marked the 96th successful landing on this particular droneship and the impressive 402nd landing overall for SpaceX boosters.

Keeping Up the Cadence

This launch is especially notable as it represents SpaceX’s 12th launch in January alone, with hopes for potentially two more launches to wrap up the month. Looking ahead, SpaceX is targeting an audacious plan for a launch cadence of between 160 and 180 missions by the year 2025, utilizing both the Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy rockets.

Interestingly, this launch comes on the heels of varying mission counts in January over the past couple of years—10 in January 2024 and 7 in January 2023. Last year, the month of November was SpaceX’s busiest, with an impressive 16 launches.
