Fort Lauderdale: Controversial Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine Faces Legal Troubles Upon Upcoming Release

Fort Lauderdale — Daniel Hernandez, better known as the rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, is set to be released from a New York prison on December 12, but he faces a storm of legal issues back in South Florida. Currently, he is involved in lawsuits that involve allegations of abuse, theft, and breach of contract, stemming from tumultuous relationships and business dealings.

What’s Happening?

Hernandez is embroiled in separate legal actions, including a lawsuit filed by a Broward County vape company, QR Joy, and another from his ex-girlfriend, Latin rapper Yailin La Mas Viral. The vape company claims Hernandez owes over $2 million for failing to uphold agreements regarding a collaboration that featured a popular song, “Shaka Laka.”

Meanwhile, Yailin, whose real name is Jorgina Lulu Guillermo Diaz, accuses Hernandez of physical, emotional, and financial abuse, including an incident where she claims she was held hostage at his home. The two were involved romantically and had collaborated professionally, but their relationship turned violent according to several accounts.

Where and When?

These disputes are centered in South Florida, primarily in Broward County, and have escalated following Hernandez’s recent legal problems. The lawsuits have developed throughout 2023, with QR Joy filing its complaint earlier in December and Yailin’s allegations surfacing around September.

Why is This Important?

The criticisms against Hernandez include a troubled past comprising his cooperation with law enforcement that branded him as a “snitch” within the hip-hop community. His legal issues illustrate a broader narrative involving celebrity culture, accountability, and the consequences of both personal and professional choices.

Details of the Allegations Against Hernandez

The lawsuit from QR Joy alleges Hernandez was supposed to collaborate and promote their vape products but failed to adhere to the contract terms after they invested heavily in his projects—over $2.6 million—including a large sum to fellow rapper Kodak Black. These violations reportedly interfered with QR Joy’s relationship with Yailin, complicating the business dynamics further.

On the other hand, Yailin’s lawsuit paints a grim picture of their relationship, asserting a history of abuse that includes severe physical and emotional harm. According to the allegations, on multiple occasions, Hernandez resorted to violence, at one point purportedly isolating Yailin from her family and friends.

Response from Hernandez’s Attorneys

Hernandez’s legal team has denied the claims made by Yailin, arguing she has been violent towards him and labeling her accusations as opportunistic. They contend that his actions stemmed from a desire to provide support during her tumultuous time, including emotional and financial backing.

As for the lawsuit from QR Joy, Hernandez has yet to respond, but his attorneys have made attempts to vacate a potential default judgment due to his confinement circumstances in jail, asserting he faced challenges in communicating with the outside world during that time.

Looking Ahead

As Hernandez prepares for his return to South Florida, the outcome of both the lawsuits remains uncertain. Legal representatives for both cases indicate a challenging road ahead, one that will undoubtedly further complicate Hernandez’s public image as he attempts to rehabilitate his reputation following years of controversy.

Both lawsuits are set to unfold as Hernandez transitions back to life outside of prison, marking a potentially significant chapter in his ongoing quest for redemption amid mounting allegations and substantial financial disputes.
