The UNI women’s golf team kicked off their 2024-25 spring season at Kings Ridge Golf Club in Florida with exciting matches at the Rust Buster Match Play. Facing tough competition from Ball State and Drake, the Panthers showcased resilience, ultimately securing a 5-1 victory against Western Illinois. With promising performances, they are preparing for the SDSU Jackrabbit Invitational next.
Basking in the warm sunshine and vibrant greens of Florida, the UNI women’s golf team set off on their exciting 2024-25 spring season at the stunning Kings Ridge Golf Club. Competing in the highly anticipated Rust Buster Match Play hosted by Murray State, the Panthers faced a rollercoaster of challenges accompanied by some exhilarating moments.
The opening round was a tough pill to swallow as the Panthers faced off against Ball State, ultimately suffering a hard-fought defeat with a score of 4.5-1.5. Amidst the challenging match, there was a glimmer of hope brought forth by Anna Nacos, who celebrated a noteworthy victory against Sophie Korthujis with a score of 2&1, achieving a robust total of 79 (+10) over 17 holes.
The performances were promising nonetheless, with Anna JensenVictoria HualdeSarah Gallagher, conceding her match 6&5 after just 13 holes with a score of +7 (60).
Additionally, fellow teammates Rylie Driskell and freshman Isabella Pettersen faced their own set of challenges, losing their matches with scores of 5&4 and one down respectively. Meanwhile, McKenna Mallow

With their spirited sessions in Florida under their belt, the Panthers are entering their next match full of hope and excitement.
