"Construction Begins: Universal Studios Store Expansion at CityWalk"
Orlando, FL – The expansion of the Universal Studios Store at CityWalk Orlando is making significant strides as construction crews continue to install exterior paneling. The area previously occupied by the Cinnabon and Quiet Flight Surf Shop is undergoing a transformation that aims to enhance the guest experience at Universal Orlando Resort.
The construction is being carried out by a team of skilled workers who have been diligently working on the site since the announcement of the expansion in September. This development is backed by Universal Orlando Resort, which is committed to providing new attractions and merchandise for its visitors.
Construction crews have completely gutted the former stores, which closed permanently in the spring. As of mid-October, they successfully installed the framework for a new facade. Recently, this framework has been further developed with plywood and black paneling to create an improved aesthetic for the entrance area.
The ongoing work is located at Universal CityWalk Orlando, specifically in the spaces formerly occupied by well-known retail locations. The entryway closest to the current store has undergone noticeable changes, with the addition of plywood and a newly structured archway featuring a steel framework.
Following the closure of the previous tenants in spring, the project has progressed rapidly. By October, workers had already begun framing the new entrance, marking a clear indication of the expansion’s forward momentum. The timeline suggests that the expansion works have been efficient, with crews actively making visible changes each week.
The addition of a new Harry Potter section featuring Butterbeer and a dedicated Super Nintendo World area complements Universal Orlando’s goal of enhancing its theme park offerings. Additionally, merchandise from the upcoming Epic Universe will also be available, blending the new with existing attractions. This expanded store aims to provide visitors with an enriching shopping experience while attending the parks.
As of now, the entrance archway is framed and awaiting further finishing touches. Crews have been observed installing vertical pieces above the entryway using a scissor lift, and the overall project is designed to maintain its aesthetic appeal while ensuring operational efficiency for park guests.
The elevator between construction zones remains operational, with crews taking precautions as they continue to work around this area. Yellow DerGlass sheathing is visible around the elevator, a sign of the ongoing structural upgrades taking place.
The expansion of the Universal Studios Store is an exciting development for fans of Universal Orlando Resort. The new sections are expected to draw greater crowds and provide a richer experience for visitors, particularly those eager to engage with the upcoming Super Nintendo World and related merchandise.
As construction continues, visitors are encouraged to follow updates on the progress of the Universal Studios Store expansion to see the transformation unfold. Expectations are high for this latest enhancement to the Universal CityWalk experience, promising an array of exciting new offerings in the near future.
